Sugar-Free Lifestyle – Have You Tried It?

My sister has been following the “no added sugar” diet (basically, not eating anything with added refined sugars) and is loving the results – better mood, clearer skin, losing weight! It sounds amazing so I’m giving it a try. I am always in search of tasty, healthy snacks that my son and I will both eat. I made these today and they are winners.
Easy Energy Bars
In a food processor, combine 1 cup of pitted Medjool dates, 1 cup toasted almonds, 1/4 tsp. vanilla extract (make sure there is no added sugar!), 1/4 cup almond butter, and 1-3 tbls. of water.
Purée until mixture sticks together. Add more water if needed. Using your hands , press mixture into a 2 qt square baking dish and refrigerate. Once chilled, cut into 36 squares and store in an airtight container in the fridge for up to one week.
